I don’t generally post on things unrelated to need…

I don’t generally post on things unrelated to needlework on this blog, but I had to provide a link to this wonderful post on Second Terrace. I am unsure whether to call it a poem or reflection, though it is probably both. It speaks of forgiveness, and certain sad events in an Amish community a little more than a week ago.

Catherine, thanks so much for posting this. I think I’ll try to print it out and add it to my own poetry collection — or maybe my Nepsis file, where it *really* belongs. Much food for thought.

  2. Mimi says:

It was amazing, thank you for linking it.

  3. James the Thickheaded says:

I’ve been thinking about this piece for days now. Thanks for linking to it.

And if I may, I am heartbroken that no serious response to this catastrophe has occurred anywhere. Talking heads are one thing….but doesn’t anyone seem to be troubled that the frequency of these things is rising?

I suspect that there is something of a loss as to how to really respond to this. Regardless how many security features there are, it is difficult to defend against one person who doesn’t care if they live or not.

    Lord have mercy
