A blogger asked me if I needlepoint regularly. Actually I rarely work on what would be considered needlepoint. I AM currently working on a design by Amy Bear (her Night Flight), but right now I only seem to be able to devote about 1 evening a month on it, if that often.
Mainly I do free-hand embroidery, with the occasional counted-work tossed in. Most of my work has some connection with liturgical embroidery, though not in all cases. For a reminder, here is a link to Night Flight No one could consider this liturgical 🙂
My liturgical embroidery, for now, is on hold. I’ve been waiting for th designs for the set of chalice covers so I can complete that set. Until then I am working on a sampler for a friends first child, and an icon of Christ, found here. This is a frames based site so just click on “religious designs”, then look down the list of images for “The Blessing Christ”. This is not the name of the icon, but it will do.
To see a photo of my progress go here, it is an old photo, but I’ve been so busy that I haven’t been able to progress much beyond this point. So it isn’t that I don’t have anything to do with what spare minutes I have. Eventually I will have the chance to complete the set of Chalice covers, and that will be a good thing.
I am currently working hard to complete training and open an indexing business (just because I have too much free time from my day-job 🙂 so my stitching time has gone down somewhat, but it isn’t going away!
