Wheww, I feel a lot lighter. I just returned from visiting my mother, and left her with 6 different needlework projects that I KNOW I will never have the time to finish. Two were small, three were quite large and two of them were already kitted up and were NOT inexpensive, on any budget.
I am thankful that I gave them to her though. It doesn’t matter how expensive they are if they never get stitched… Some needleworkers find just as much pleasure in building their stash up as they do actually working on them.. but I am not in that group … I doubt my checking account could handle THAT group membership 🙂
I am not sure what it is about Spring – perhaps because it IS Spring – but there is this struggle between sitting down and actually stitching, and going outside to smell the flowers blooming and to see the wonderful breezes. Hmmmmm, that should be to see the flowers and smell that wonderful spring air that can’t be beat. Pity that eventually summer comes, as well as the *wonderful* smell of urbanized areas, but for now it is pretty wonderful.
I will try to update my projects next week, getting ready to travel for Memorial Day weekend. When you live in Speedway, Indiana, Race weekend is a GOOD time to travel 🙂
It has been a LONG time since my last post, over a month! Lent was so very busy this year, and during Bright Week (the week following Pascha) I have been really enjoying being lazy and not doing much of anything aside from staying home. There wasn’t much of a chance for that during Lent 🙂
I am still considering if I am going to continue this blog or not. There are a lot of things that I would like to say, but I don’t think they are the sort of things that I should make public. It seems the longer that I am Orthodox, the less I like to say about myself, there is a lot of merit in keeping things to ourselves.
Regarding my needlework, I did absoloutly NOTHING over Great Lent. However, in the past week I actually picked up a needle and took a few stitches and for that I am happy 🙂
